This simple box was designed in order to make the teaching of Braille to young children easier as it can demonstrate all 64 characters available without the need to remove pegs as is common on more basic teaching aids. In order to help those teaching to remember the characters, a visual alphabet was also created for the basic alphabet and numbers. In the first version prototype (bottom picture) the red and green characters could be locked down so you would only ever need to hold down 4 levers at any one time but in the latest prototype these have been removed. However, the teaching sheets can now be stored in the base and the levers have been made easier to use for those with larger hands.
